Admission process for the Government and Private Engineering Colleges in Maharashtra

Government and Private Colleges of Maharashtra admissions are on the basis of a student's performance in the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. Admission to 15% seats in Private Engineering Colleges is through JEE Main. MHT-CET exam is conducted in online mode. It consists of MCQ based questions and the time duration to solve these is 180 minutes. Engineering aspirants are required to appear for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics group.


MHT-CET PCM paper will consist of Physics - 50 questions of 1 mark each, Chemistry - 50 questions of 1 mark each and Maths - 50 questions of 2 marks each. This means MHT-CET exam (PCM) will be of 200 marks and there will be No Negative Marking.


Approximately, 20% weightage will be given to 11th standard syllabus and 80% to 12th standard syllabus while setting the question paper. Difficulty level of MHT-CET will be at par with JEE Main examination.


The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Vocational subject in Std.XII exam.
